At what age should my child see the orthodontist?

There are many factors that determine the length of your orthodontic treatment. It can depend on age, how quickly your teeth move, growth spurts and keeping the appliances in good order and position. The typical time range for braces is 18-24 months.


Are there certain foods I cannot eat with braces?

Hard crunchy foods may break the brackets and wires and thus extend the length of time you’ll need to wear them. Avoid carrots, gum, popcorn, ice, hard chips and peanuts.


How do I brush and floss with braces?

Ask your clinician or orthodontist about the way to maintain your regular brushing and flossing regimen to remove plaque and avoid cavities and decay.
