Dr. Mariam Ghavamian, Orthodontic Specialist
An orthodontic specialist focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of misalignment of your teeth, jaws, or bite pattern. The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children receive an orthodontic evaluation at around seven years old to proactively identify issues with tooth alignment and jaw function. Comprehensive orthodontic care for children and adults is available in our office including Invisalign clear aligner therapy for adult patients and Vivera clear retainers.
Dr. Mary Ghattas, Pediatric Specialist
A pediatric specialist is dedicated to the oral health care of children from infancy through the teen years. They have completed two additional years of residency training in dentistry for infants, children, teens, and children with special needs. This experience allows the specialist to care for your child’s teeth, gums, and mouth while helping them feel comfortable and safe. Dr. Ghattas can provide pediatric sedation in the office for extremely anxious patients and she has hospital privileges to practice at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Brighton.
Dr. Yong Hur, Periodontal and Dental Implant Specialist
A periodontal specialist specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, or gum disease, and in the placement of dental implants. Periodontists diagnose and treat all types of oral inflammation. Periodontists receive three additional years of education beyond dental school. They are up to date on the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal disease, dental implantology and also provide certain types of cosmetic dental procedures.
